TORONTO — The Toronto Community Benefits Network (TCBN) has honoured Skills Ontario with the 2025 Leading on Diversity – Community Award.
Presented to only 10 recipients, Skills Ontario was chosen for its commitment to community benefit programs through development initiatives that prioritize equity-deserving groups, including women, Indigenous communities, newcomers, racialized you and people with disabilities.
The award was presented to the director of diversity, equity, inclusion and Indigenous relations, Ashley Cuglietta, at the Canadian Building Diversity Awards and Community Benefits Summit in Toronto.
For more than 25 years, Skills Ontario has focused on providing opportunities for marginalized groups through the Young Women’s Initiatives, First Nations, Métis, Inuit Initiatives, Black Youth Events and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program.
“Congratulations to Ashley and the rest of our team on receiving this award, which highlights the dedication they all have to creating equal opportunities for all youth to learn about and pursue skilled trade careers,” said Ian Howcroft, CEO of Skills Ontario, in a statement.
“Skills Ontario strives to build a diverse and inclusive skilled workforce through engaging, hands-on programs like our UMOJA Series, International Day of the Girl celebrations, First Nations, Métis, Inuit Skilled Trades and Tech Days, Tools for Success events, and more.”
