Le Symbio Canada’s first multifamily build to be LEED Silver, zero-carbon certified
LE SYMBIO — Le Symbio is 28-storey, 219-suite building in the Montreal suburb of Lachenaie that is on deck to become Canada’s first multifamily building with both LEED Silver and Zero-Carbon Building certifications.

MONTREAL — Le Symbio is 219-suite site that is slated to become Canada’s first multifamily building with both LEED Silver and Zero-Carbon Building certifications.

Located at 1475 Yves-Blais St. in Montreal’s suburb of Lachenaie, the 28-storey building features an indoor pool, fitness centre, parking, rooftop terrace and co-working space.

Le Symbio opened last July and is gearing towards certification this year. The building has studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom rental apartments. All two and three bedroom apartments are corner units, a release reads.

Some of the design measures that aided in the certifications include central mechanical heating, high efficiency air conditioning and ventilation, and energy-efficient, long-lasting lighting. There are also high-efficiency aluminum framed windows and thermal breaks were installed on all balconies to reduce heat loss.

The project team includes FTG Development, Claridge, SAJO, Services Immobiliers and Avison Young as broker.
